The Evolution of a Dancer

The Evolution of a Dancer

Our dancers will immerse your students in the world of dance and particularly classical ballet as they invite them to learn what it takes to become a professional ballet dancer. Students will experience an amazingly athletic art form in action from the classroom to the stage. The demonstration will begin with pre-professional ballet students as well as professional artists participating in an actual ballet class, and then the dancers will continue the visual evolution to perform both classical and current works.

Program format: Assembly
Program Costs: $350
Audience Limits: 300
Duration: 45 minutes

Requirements: We ask that you prepare a 25x40 foot area for our dancers. Please have a sound system that is equipped to play CD’s for our use, and allow dancers the use of a bathroom or changing area.

Dance Through the Ages

Students will follow a visual history of the stunning and athletic art of ballet from its origins in the courts of France and Italy, through the Romantic and Classical periods that defined the well-known story ballets such as Giselle, Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, and on to the contemporary ballets of today that fuse traditional vocabulary with thoroughly modern movement and music.  Following the performance, students will have the opportunity to ask questions in a stimulating and engaging discussion about the world of dance.
