The Georgia Ballet's 2011-2012 Parent Annual Fund Drive

WHEN YOU GIVE TO THE GEORGIA BALLET’S ANNUAL FUND,
YOU ARE GIVING TO YOUR DANCER AND YOUR COMMUNITY.

The Georgia Ballet offers excellent training with knowledgeable, caring instructors in a nurturing environment.  The Ballet builds leaders by teaching work ethic, organization, self-confidence and social skills that will serve your dancer all of his/her life.

Dance training offered at The School at the Georgia Ballet is second to none with an exceptionally high number of students securing acceptances and scholarships to the most prestigious ballet institutions in the country. We recruit recognized leaders in dance education to our own summer program and permanent faculty.

Ticket sales and tuition do not cover the Ballet’s operating expenses.  The actual cost of tuition for your dancer is 30% higher than what you pay.  To make dance more accessible, the Ballet subsidizes both its ticket sales and tuition.  That is why the Ballet needs to raise additional funds.  Your gift in any amount is appreciated and important.  Please give today and help us achieve 100% Parent/Student Annual Fund participation.

THE GEORGIA BALLET'S 2011-2012 PARENT ANNUAL FUND DRIVE CO-CHAIRS
Marshall & Michelle Coleman and Wes & Jill Sebaugh

There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do to help prepare for my children for the challenging world that lay before them.  With five daughters, both the challenges and opportunities are tremendous.  As parents we strive to find activities that are both enjoyable to our daughters and similarly edifying.  The training they have received at The Georgia Ballet has amply satisfied both of those requirements. Chicago Academy of Arts instructor and choreographer Anna Paskevska has said, "Learning ballet is wonderful for children even if they never become dancers. It is wonderful because it teaches discipline, grace, and manners."  Marcia Haydee remarked, "It is more important who students are as people, and only then is it important who they are as dancers." Indeed, it is important, and nowhere more so than at The Georgia Ballet.

Since first placing a daughter there four years ago as a nine-year-old, we have seen the tremendous impact her association with The Georgia Ballet instructors and dancers has had on her.  We've since put our eight-year-old in class as well.  Can you think of anything that can bring our great young people together with more focus, energy and passion than in the performance of high art like ballet?  The countless hours working together on performances such as last year's Pinnochio and the annual The Nutcracker have taught our daughters what it is to be excellent at something they love.  These lessons spill over into other areas of their lives like academics and spiritual devotion.  We love the beautiful young women The Georgia Ballet has helped our daughters become and we think you will love it for your child, too.

Our two daughters have been students at The Georgia Ballet for the past 7 years and we have been pleased to watch their  technical skills grow and develop.  The Georgia Ballet has provided an environment which encourages high standards of behavior, offers good role models, promotes healthy habits, and encourages students to work hard.  The teachers provide excellent technique training and promote performance skills in a manner that is age appropriate and congruent with our family values of self-respect and modesty.
