ARTS IN EDUCATION

The Georgia Ballet is dedicated to enhancing lives in our community through our “Arts in Education” outreach programs. These initiatives bring valuable arts experiences and high-quality dance training to children and families, regardless of age, ability, or socio-economic background. Each program is designed to inspire and educate, showcasing the beauty and benefits of dance. By fostering a love for the arts, we promote creative thinking, problem-solving, athleticism, and healthy lifestyles for all participants.

METRO ATLANTA FIELD TRIPS

Field Trip Series to our professional productions offer thousands of Metro Atlanta school children the opportunity to experience the artistry and athleticism of live performance each year. To enhance the educational value, STEM-related study guides are available for download on our website, helping teachers and students connect the experience to their core curriculum. These performances provide students with valuable exposure to the arts, fostering creativity and critical thinking in their academics. Each performance lasts approximately one hour and is available for groups only. Student tickets are $10.00 each, with one free adult chaperone for every 10 paid students. Any school that brings 2 or more grades will receive a $3.00 discount per ticket.

DANCEABILITY

DanceAbility is a program that provides free class to children with special needs. The goal of this program is to provide those with physical disabilities a traditional dance class experience, while tailoring to their needs to provide comfortable participation. This class is taught by a qualified instructor, and is assisted by dance students to allow for the cultivation of personal relationships and special attention. While this course requires a great deal of one-on-one attention, the benefits to the students are tremendous. These students are able to realize a new potential in their abilities to move as well as their ability to achieve new accomplishments. Learn more

MOMENTUM

The Momentum program provides free dance classes in Title 1 schools in the Metro-Atlanta area weekly. These classes focus on musicality, rhythm, quality of movement, and basic dance terminology.  All programs meet Georgia Quality Core Curriculum Standards, and study guides are provided to enhance the experience of each program. The impact of this program goes far beyond teaching techniques of dance, but also instills a sense of accomplishment and self-confidence in these children, who may not otherwise ever have this opportunity.  For Momentum booking information, call 770-528-0881.
