Shelby Chaney
Shelby began her ballet training at age 9 under Carol Smith and Angie White in Auburn, Alabama. She has attended summer intensives with Montgomery Ballet, American Ballet Theater, International Ballet Intensive, and the Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet in New York City. After her summer with GKA she was asked to stay for their full year program, where she continued training for the next 3 years under Gelsey Kirkland herself. While in the academy, Shelby had the opportunity to perform soloist roles in La Vivandiere and Les Sylphides. She has also performed in the corps de ballet for many of their company shows such as Don Quixote, Walpurgis Night, Stealing Time, and as Spanish Soloist in the Nutcracker. After her time in school, Shelby became a company member with Georgia Ballet in 2017. A few of her roles with the company include Harlequin doll and Mirliton in the Nutcracker, Cigarette Girl in Carmen, Katrina’s friend in Sleepy Hollow, and Little Swans in Swan Lake. Shelby looks forward to another great year with Georgia Ballet!
